After attending Thompson's Watchmaking School in Kansas City, Mr. Lionel Sutton opened Sutton's Jewelry in 1950. Our store first opened its doors in Garnett, Kansas. Below is the original wooden sign that hung outside the store in Garnett. In 1969, Mr. Sutton relocated the business to 207 S. Main Street in Ottawa.
Lionel's Son, Philip Sutton, started as a Bench Jeweler in 1980. Along with his Wife, Cathy, they have owned Sutton's together since 1995. In 2018, the business moved to 213 S. Main Street. In 2020, their son Ian Sutton and his wife Lindsay Sutton joined them!
